lately that to move forward means to be seeking new challenges. Saying goodbye to the past means leaving behind all of those habits that are holding you back from living and creating the way you were meant to. Three years ago I quit my job, packed up my camera and lights and drove through the mountains. Sometimes no matter how far you go the past can creep back in. But once you've tasted what's possible there's no turning back.
It's time to march towards a new destination. There are new stories to live.

I have always loved shooting on location. Wandering through industrial complexes, alleys and abandoned places is part of the process of putting together all the elements for a photo shoot. One of the challenges on location is figuring out beforehand what spots you want to shoot but also allowing yourself the freedom to experiment on the day. There is always a time crunch to get all the shots in. That kind of urgency drives you to focus on what needs to be done and to ask for what you want. I realized last summer the only way I can create the images I want is to be absolutely free. Free to express who I am.
Tied in with this is the ability to adapt. No matter how well planned a shoot is there will always be unforeseen circumstances. Some outfits will look better against different backgrounds, at different angles etc. The ability to adapt under pressure builds with more experience and I have found that at the core that instinct has always been there. Listen to it. Break free from the comfortable and familiar and push ourselves. No excuses. No distractions. Maybe then we'd find
a better tomorrow.
